Monica Valencia is a Leader in the Community

The community-based newspaper "El Tecolote," which has been a beacon of the Mission District community in San Francisco, California, has featured Monica and her classmate Gaby Garcia.

In the final week before their inaugural event, #UndocuFest, takes place, Monica takes a moment to let the community know what the event will entail. She also speaks about the need to build collaborative movements in the community that will last.

As an alumus of USF Law, Monica consistently shows how important it is to tell your own stories & narratives, but also to create your own platforms in which you can affect meaningful change. Monica seeks to help the immigrant and undocumented communities by building her own platforms in which to exist.

One of these platforms in #UndocuFest, where she hopes to bring people and communties from the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and even Columbus, Ohio to come together and stand in this collective movement to fight against cultural & educational inequality.

Monica's vision is to create equitable platforms through creative measures, ideas and collaborative practices that allows her and her team to work with other organizations, communities, activists, and leaders to forge a strong foundation that is sturdy enough to stand up for social & legislative change.
