Monica Valencia honored by 2017 West Coast Public Interest Award

Equal Justice Works (EJW) awards a law student from all regions of the country each year with the Public Interest Award. EJW honor law students who "exemplify what it takes to be a public interest law superstar, providing extraordinary service to their communities through pro bono projects, student-run organizations, law school clinics, internships, and more."

Monica has not only demonstrated a deep commitment to public interest law and pro bono work, but she has certainly left a lasting impression on her community through her work in immigrant rights, lgbtq rights, women's rights, and veteran's rights.

This past May, Monica was selected as the recipient of the 2017 Public Interest Award by EJW for the West Coast region while attending school at the University of San Francisco School of Law, in San Francisco, California.
